How fees work

Here is how paying works, in the order most patients ask.

  • If you pay yourself

Many of our patients pay without insurance. You know the fee before we start, in writing and step by step, so you can decide what to do now and what to wait on. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

    • Pay at the visit

    • Each step and its fee in writing

    • Third-party financing, set by the lender

  • An estimate in advance

You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you book or whenever you ask. It lists each step we expect and the fee for each.

    • In writing, before treatment

    • Each step listed

    • Time to take it home

  • Insurance we work with

We file claims for some dental PPO plans. The practice's list of plans goes here, from the owner's hub. With a plan we don't work with, you pay at the visit and get an itemized receipt. Original Medicare doesn't pay for dentures; some Medicare Advantage plans include dental, so ask yours. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.

    • Some dental PPO plans: we file the claim

    • Other plans: an itemized receipt

    • Original Medicare: no denture coverage

  • Receipts for reimbursement

After each visit we give you an itemized receipt with the procedure codes. You can send it to a plan that reimburses out-of-network care. Whether the plan pays, and how much, is the plan's decision.

    • Itemized, every visit

    • Procedure codes included

  • Checking your benefits

Before your first visit, Edith can check your dental benefits with your plan. Give her your plan's details by phone or on the patient portal, not in the contact form. A plan's answer isn't a promise; the final amount is set when it processes the claim.

  • What the first visit includes

About an hour: a talk about what you want, an exam by Dr. Sosa, X-rays only if she needs them and a written estimate before any treatment. Fill in your health history on our private patient portal, not by email or in the contact form.

    • A talk, then an exam

    • X-rays only if needed

    • Health history on the portal
